Meet the Team at Generations Family and Cosmetic Dentistry

At Generations Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we’ve made every effort to put together a truly exceptional team of friendly, kind, compassionate people. We love helping people look and feel their best, and it shows in the way we practice our craft. Combined, we have a total of 112 years of experience in dentistry.

We’d love to take a moment to introduce ourselves so that you have a name to put with the face when you come to our office.

Dr. Lindsay Compton, DDS

Dr. Lindsay Compton practically grew up in a dental office. Her mother worked as a dental assistant for a dentist Lindsay idolized. She loved that he always had a funny joke or could whistle “My Girl” perfectly as he fixed a cavity. When Lindsay showed interest, he took her under his wing, encouraging her to hold up the mirror during procedures so she could get a better look at what was going on.

Dr. Compton grew up thinking of the dentist’s office as a comfortable, welcoming place, and today, she wants her patients to think of her office the same way.

A Lifelong Learner

Dr. Compton studied as an undergraduate at Iowa State University, majoring in zoology and genetics. She also enjoyed performing on the dance team. During her time at the University of Iowa Dental School, she held leadership positions within her class, the school, and national student organizations. She won major research competitions and was published in the Journal of Dental Research.

“I’m lucky to have been surrounded by strong clinical and research faculty who mentored me to shape my practice today. From their example, I believe that I am a lifelong learner, and that is my duty to the patient and the profession.”

Dr. Compton enjoys research and is always looking for new ideas and technology that will help her patients and her practice.

After completing dental school, Dr. Compton joined the General Practice Residence program at Truman Medical Center, an opportunity that allowed her to treat patients with developmental disabilities and more complex medical histories. While at Truman, Dr. Compton gained experience in sedation dentistry and providing care to patients with developmental disabilities, elderly patients, and pediatric patients.

This gave me more knowledge and confidence in treating emergencies and more difficult procedures.

Her passion for learning has never subsided, and she is active in the Spear Study Club and International Partnership for Occlusion Study Club. When she finds spare time, she attends scientific sessions about sleep apnea, laser dentistry, implant dentistry, and occlusion.

Practicing in ColoradoColorado Dental Association

After practicing for two years in Kansas, Dr. Compton found herself drawn to the mountains and the outdoor culture of Colorado. She worked as an associate for four years before purchasing the practice. She advocates for her colleagues and profession by holding numerous leadership positions locally, at the state level, and at the national level. She is currently the Vice President of the Colorado Dental Association and is the District 14 American Dental Association New Dentist Representative. She also sits on the Council for Dental Practice at the American Dental Association. She is 1 of only 19 dentists selected by their peers to serve on this committee.

Dr. Compton doesn’t think of herself as a “tooth mechanic.” She deeply believes that the mouth is the portal to the human body. She loves to educate patients about the many oral systemic disease connections. For instance, did you know that the bacteria found in dental plaque are also found in the plaque around your heart? Did you know that periodontal disease is linked to pre-term low-birth-weight babies? Or that dietary deficiencies can be seen in your gums?

A Determined Athlete

Outside the office, Dr. Compton enjoys almost anything outdoors. She is an avid runner and hiker. She has summited over 20 of Colorado's 14ers. She also enjoys kayaking, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and occasionally biking with her husband. Her dogs, Lola and Winnie, are a big part of her life and she rarely does and adventure without them.

Lola and Winnie make occasional visits to the office and patients love them! Sometimes patients even request Lola and Winnie to be in the office for their appointment. They are Australian Labradoodles and are hypoallergenic. Dr. Compton hopes to train them to be comfort dogs once they retire from being "dogtors".

Kim

Dental Hygienist

Our Hygienist, Kim, is an Arvada native and enjoys practicing in the neighborhood she grew up. She loves to learn new techniques and treatments including using the laser for periodontal care. Kim enjoys educating patients about conventional and natural treatment options. She is gentle and genuinely wants to know how she can treat you the very best. Kim loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, son, and two dogs. She frequently escapes to the mountains to camp, hunt, go boating, or off roading. She is also quite good at knitting!

Julie

Front Office Manager

Julie is our front office manager and the one who keeps our office running so smoothly! She has been with our practice for fifteen years and enjoys explaining care to patients and helping them understand their treatment. When Julie is not at work, she loves to take her daughters to horse shows and take care of her small farm. She proudly states that she has over 150 tulips in her yard! When it’s time for a break, Julie loves to escape to the beaches of Maui.
